Room Options & Pricing

From £7,950 per person

The retreat will offer four accommodation categories across our two hotels in Edinburgh and the Highlands, ranging from shared luxury accommodation through to a very limited number of signature suites and exclusive-use experiences.

Classic Shared Occupancy
Our Classic Shared category (£7,950–£8,950 per person) combines shared Superior Twin rooms at The Bonham in Edinburgh with a variety of shared rooms, apartments and cottages at Douneside House. Shared cottage and apartment options at Douneside include Pine Cottage, Alpha Cottage, Gatehouse Cottage and Casa 21. These packages have been designed to offer a highly comfortable and sociable experience throughout the retreat.

Classic Single Occupancy
The Classic Single category (£8,950–£10,250) offers private occupancy throughout the retreat, pairing Superior rooms at The Bonham with individually styled private rooms or private bedrooms within cottages at Douneside. Cottage options at this level may include Dounebrae Cottage, Pine Cottage, Gatehouse Cottage, Alpha Cottage or Casa 21.

Premium Rooms
For guests seeking an enhanced accommodation experience, our Premium category (£9,950–£11,250) includes Deluxe Kings and Junior Suites at The Bonham together with some of Douneside’s finest bedrooms and suites, including landmark rooms and spacious suite accommodation. Private cottage accommodation is also available within this category at Douneside House, including Morven Cottage (accessible cottage), Casa 22, Casa 23 and Casa 24.

Executive Accommodation
Finally, our Signature category (£12,500) offers a very limited number of exceptional accommodation pairings, including Signature Suites at The Bonham together with either the Lochnagar Suite or the Lady MacRobert room at Douneside House.

Because the retreat moves between two hotels during the programme, accommodation has been carefully paired across both properties to create a balanced and coherent experience within each category. Exact room allocations will be confirmed closer to the retreat unless specific requests are made at the time of booking.

The Glamis Retreat

Edinburgh, Glamis & The Scottish Highlands

This immersive experience will begin with five inspiring days in Edinburgh, where we will explore the city’s cultural treasures, including time with the extraordinary Burrell Collection. The Burrell’s remarkable holdings of decorative arts, textiles, and design will form part of the creative foundation for our workshops.

From Edinburgh, we will travel north into the Scottish Highlands, where we will spend six days at the Douneside House Hotel, visiting the magnificent Glamis Castle - a place steeped in history, atmosphere, and extraordinary textile tradition and, along with the Burrell Collection, the source of our historic workshop designs.

At Glamis Castle we will have privileged access to the property and be able to spend time in the archives with Ingrid Thomson. Glamis houses an exceptional textile collection that reflects centuries of creativity by the women of the family from the 17th century onwards.
